Setting-up a management model for combatting the processionaria disease

The project aims to contribute to the restoration, protection, and biodiversity of forests in Albania by developing a sustainable model to combat the processionaria disease in selected municipalities(Bulqize; Fushe Arrez;  Gjinar). Key specific objectives include the establishment of anti-processionaria field laboratories, the development of operational protocols, and the creation of a monitoring system for the disease. The project will be implemented through multiple work packages, focusing on baseline verification, protocol development, field laboratory setup, monitoring, and communication.

Opening event of the project "Creating a management model for combating the pest of the pine processioner"

The National Forestry Agency, in collaboration with its partners organized on January 23, 2025, at Hotel Rogner in Tirana, a kick-off event to present the activities and stakeholders involved in the project "Setting-up a Management Model for Combatting the Processionaria Disease" funded by the Italian-Albanian Debt for Development Swap Agreement (IADSA).
